Our Impact

A clean workplace matters. So does how it gets cleaned. At Fresh Desk, we're interested in more than spotless kitchens and tidy meeting rooms. We want our work to create positive outcomes for people and the planet too. No lofty promises. Just practical action and honest reporting.
-
Many of our team members have faced barriers to employment. We believe potential matters more than a perfect CV — so we partner with community organisations and employment programmes to support people into meaningful work, training, and career development. That's good for our team. It's also good for our customers. Stable, supported people deliver more consistent service, stay longer, and build better relationships with the workplaces they look after. When people thrive, workplaces benefit.
-
Most organisations know how much waste they collect. Fewer know what's actually in it. That's why we help customers measure, understand, and reduce waste — through audits, recycling optimisation, diversion reporting, and resource recovery initiatives. The goal isn't just a cleaner workplace. It's better information, so your team can make better decisions.
-
We're careful about sustainability claims. We'll share what's working, what's improving, and where we're still learning — across lower-impact products, waste reduction, responsible procurement, and environmental measurement. Some results come quickly. Others take time. That's the nature of real change.
Why it matters
We believe people and environmental outcomes are connected. A workplace that values its people tends to make better decisions about resources. A workplace that reduces waste usually becomes more thoughtful across the board. We're proud of the progress we've made, and equally open about the work still ahead. Because impact isn't something you claim — it's something you keep working on.
EcoVadis Silver Rating
In 2026 Fresh Desk was independently assessed by EcoVadis and awarded a Silver medal — placing us in the top 15% of companies globally for sustainability management across governance, labour, ethics, and environment. We're treating this as a foundation, not a ceiling.
Social Commitments
Fresh Desk has paid all staff the living wage or above for over 10 years. In 2024, we were gender pay gap positive and Pacific pay gap positive — meaning women and Pacific peoples earn more than the average across our team.
We offer free and confidential counselling to all staff and their families through the Xero Assistance Programme.
